quick question!

Over the last few months ive been on the hunt for the perfect vanilla cupcake batter. Some are ok but not perfect! (I have the best chcocolate batter) DO u think if i removed the chocolate and cocoa (which is liquid) from the chcolate recipe and added milk or water it would be a just as good vanilla batter?

Some imput would be great!
