Ok cookie makers, I need help! What, in your opinion, is best when using edible images on cookies?

I use the royal icing for cookies (recipe on CC). I also use the frosting sheets and not the rice paper. I pipe a trim around the image so it doesn't curl up on the edges.

I looked at your photos, AlamoSweets. The cookies look great! Did you put the image on while the frosting was still wet?

Yes, I only use a thin layer of frosting and they are ready to package the next morning (even the RI trim is dry enough)
