those who want to contact venues in the area so be it, do what you feel will float your boat.... if you think that will make you happy than fine I will be more than happy to send you a list of what is in my area! Wether you like it or not, there are many creative people in this world and you are not the only one!

Here is a question I hope someone can help with, should/could I get my occupational license now or do I have to wait until July 1st? Also, here is the kicker, next week I am finally moving out of my apartment after 4 years and getting into a house. The whole back lanai is actually closed off and air conditioned which would be perfect for my own little shop. Now the only problem is, I have no idea if this house that I just signed a lease on is in an area zoned for in home businesses. Does anyone know who I would contact in the county to find out if it is legal. (If all of this passes and I move into a house in the "wrong" neighborhood, I'm not going to be happy) :/ thanks

Mike, this might help...
You do not need to have your home inspected or licensed Cottage Food is EXEMPT all you need is a business license from the town you reside in. You DO NOT need to contact a Building Planner. You DO NOT need to contact the Health Dept.
It is all so new right now that nothing is set in stone yet. But Barbara (AKA KrazyAboutCake) actually wrote the bill so I would take her word before any others.
We have also set up a facebook page to help each other as the process unfolds.

HTH!
Thanks, and I am already a fan of the page
I would wait until the bill gets signed before doing to much. There is still the off chance that the could Governor veto it and than we need to start all over. If we do have to start over, there is a chance something would change. So I guess until then we are all on stand by.... ![]()
Sebrina, I want to clarify something, I did not write the verbiage for the bill this was all created by the House of Representatives. I do not want anyone to think I had anything to do with the actual writing of the bill. All I did was contacted the Speaker of the House and sent him the letter that I shared with anyone and everyone that wanted a copy to send to there representatives.

Sorry Barbara. I went back & read what I wrote & I did say that. I meant to write you actually started the process. Then I deleted that & was trying to say you practically wrote it. Somewhere in between my A.D.D. kicked in & the rest is history... Sorry about the confusion!
