How does everyone get their rice krispy treats so smooth? Every time I mold RKT into something, they are never perfectly smooth to cover in fondant.

Thanks for your help!

I always use the bags of Wilton candy chips and melt them down, using them to smooth out the surface. I also use them to adhere a couple of the treats to each other. I find this works great under fondant and love this method.

I also use Wilton Candy Melts over RKT. I then use a fine cheese grater to "sand" on the surfaces once the Candy Melts have hardened. Then I use piping gel to adhere the fondant to the figure.

Yup - Wilton candy melts also! If there are any spots that are not smooth, then I just use a hot spatula to smooth it. icon_biggrin.gif

I've used the candy melts and candy clay as well - both work wonderfully!

Thanks so much for all your help! The chocolate melts are a great idea, I will definitely try that icon_smile.gif
