I think that it is ALMOST the same.. It does not IMO set as hard or it is not as pliable as fonant.. Just try a batch and see for yourself.. Although it does taste better.. Good Luck!

I haven't tried modeling regular fondant yet, but I have tried it with MMF. In my experience, the MMF is a bit on the elastic side, so sometimes I have a hard time getting it to do just what I want it to. Candy clay, on the other hand, is just like using modeling clay. I love it!

What does the candy clay taste like? Is it as delicious as the box says it is??

What box? I made mine from chocolate (either white or semi-sweet) and corn syrup. Tastes just like chocolate, so you can't beat that! icon_biggrin.gif

Ali,
Can you email me the recipe for the candy clay and any tips in molding it??
[email protected]

I noticed a box of the Wilton's candy clay with
Scooby Doo molds on the clearance rack at
Michael's the other day. I'm working on a Scooby
party for my daughter and considered the candy clay but had no idea how it tasted. I'm all for making it myself! icon_wink.gif

thanks.
Joan
