I want to make a gumpaste Victorian hat with a wide brim (with a slight curve to the brim), flowers, bow and feathers. I want to use it as a cake topper so the brim will measure 10 in. wide at least. How can I get that "curve" in the brim? I've heard of using rice paper to make the feathers, but don't know how. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
I cut up a cereal box and placed paper towel underneath to give it support, let it dry for a few days! The cereal box worked great because it was thin and flexible, but JUST enough strength to hold a slight curve with the help of the paper towels underneath!
