How do any /all of you transport your cakes?
Do you just use Non Skid pads. or do you all use like a ? thickness of foam?
I thourly clean and vacuum ny trunk out but only have a car to transport. Yes the AC can get into the trunk if needed so no problem. But just curious?
The woman who taught me uses like 3" foam. Wondering if I should buy some?
The non-skid pads work great and are easier to store. If you want to use foam, then buy a cheap egg crate mattress for a twin size bed. This works great, but takes up a lot of storage space.
I started with the foam and have moved to the non-skid pads.
As always, it's personal choice, do what works for you.

I use the non-skid material for transporting, I have in addition used foam, when I am going very long distances, just to help the suspension. I think that it also depends on your vehicle. Some, like jeeps, and trucks, ride a little rougher then say a 4 door car.
I use the non skid mats that they sell in hardware stores for tools. They are black with that pebbled pattern. I actually was given some from my Dad for my tabletop sanders and saws but it works out really well for cakes. It's heavier duty than the non skid stuff usually found in kitchens. It has saved my tooka on a few occasions from things taking a dive.
Hope this helps, ![]()
