how did your cake balls turn out kandu? *fingers crossed*
ive never tried airbrushing so I really dont know. hmm, what do you mean dots? Maybe chill the cake ball before brushing? just a thought...
I'm having problem airbrushing candy melts the paint turns to dots anyone knows how to prevent this?. Thank you
Your candy melts are high in fat, and airbrush colours are water or alcohol-based, so the dotting effect will result. There is a product you can add to water-based colours (colorflow ?) which allows you to colour candy melts using the regular Americolor colors, so maybe use that to get an even colour with your candy melts rather than airbrushing.
splymale, for 1 batch, meaning about one 9x13 sheet cake, I use about 1/2 a cup. However this depends really on how moist your cake is. When i make brownie pops for example, brownies are so moist i dont even use cream cheese. I dont have to add anything to them.
I would add enough cream cheese starting by 1/4 cup, and just knead the "crumb dough" until its firm enough to roll into a ball shape and not break.
If I were doing it, I'd get several cardboard boxes (at least 12"x12" at the base) as well as a piece of 3"-thick styrofoam cut to fit exactly inside the bottom of each box. I'd make sure I had gotten the stick of each cake pop well embedded in the styrofoam and that none of the cake pops hung out over the edge of the styrofoam (so that they wouldn't brush up agains the insides of the boxes). I'd put these styrofoam plaques with the pops in the boxes and then I'd put the boxes in the trunk of my car on some kind of non-skidding mat.
