Flower Center Mold- Probably A Dumb Question!

I just bought the Magnolia center mold from GSA. I've never used a center mold. It's wider inside the mold than it is at the entrance/exit point (The pic on their site is kind of crummy, but I figured it couldn't be too complicated, right? 
) So.... how do you get the gumpaste out? (scratching head)... cut it in half?
ya, it's silicone. I gave it to my husband, who's a manufacturing engineer (a wealth of information about creating and using all kinds of molds!), and he is also scratching his head. So I feel less stupid now.
