I heard that if I add a little bit of corn syrup to the royal icing mix it'll give it a shine. I have corn syrup that turned a little yellow, can anyone tell me if this syrup is still good & if I use a little bit of it will it change the color of the icing?

Toba's Glace has a little sheen to it when it dries, as it is made with corn syrup. Regular royal will dry mat. Cookies that look shiny in the pics are generally taken while the royal was still wet. I wish it would stay shiny too..but it does not. I don't know if your corn syrup is good or not. Great value makes corn syrup now in a small bottle and I always buy that.

I often airbrush my royal with a mixture of silver luster dust & vodka to give it a nice shine!
