Hello all 
I'm looking to make a tiered cake for a birthday, and I'm unsure as to which cake recipe I should use. I want a dense, moist cake that won't 'crumb' too much. Also, I'm looking for a simple, delicious, plain buttercream. Can anyone help me out and narrow my choices? Thank you!

Well in my opinion, i love the WAC recipe on here and Indydebi's buttercream, both are sooo yummy..... Hope that helps...

I agree.. also, if you want an icing that tastes a little less sweet, then try the whipped buttercream in recipes - it's really yummy!
