Cupcake Cake (Pull Apart)-Need Advice
Baking By GamecockGal21 Updated 15 Apr 2011 , 4:05pm by poohsmomma
I've been requested to make a cupcake pull apart cake in the shape of a 5. I have never done this before. Do I need to make my buttercream more stiff in order to make sure I don't have any "sag"? Any instructions or advice you can give me, please!!!???
I have only made two, but they were very easy. I attached the cc to the board with little glue dots. (Most people use a dab of buttercream, but I don't like the thought of that buttercream on the bottom getting on kids' shirts.)
I use the same buttercream I always use-Indydebi's Buttercream. I just iced, smoothed and decorated it like I would a cake. I used a FBCT on one and an edible image on the other. Here is the one with the FBCT:

Hope this helps!
Thanks for the response. Your cake is AWESOME!
How do you do the frozen buttercream transfer. I typically do straight buttercream cakes with my "own" designs. Not that "into" fondant, but have cut out some shapes and put on cakes.
Thanks for your help!
Here's a link to an article on FBCT found here on CC.
