How Much Do Have People Pay In Advance When They Order?

My family and friends are great! Everytime I do a $$$ cake they offer to send me money for supplies. I never know how much. Is there a certain % that you charge?

For wedding cakes I require a 25% deposit, with the balance due 2 weeks prior to the event date.

I don't do occasion cakes anymore, but I would suggest at least a 50% deposit. Some decorators require payment in full when the order is placed.

50% due at time of contract signing, remaining balance due 3 weeks prior to event. Cakes that are $250 or less, total due in full at time of signing.
