I have a 6" teir & I would like to buy a pan for it
I have 2 options
-Wilton 6" round
-or Fat Daddios 5" round
I heard FD is way better than Wilton but the place where I am to put an order in only carries 5" & my teir is 6", would it look ugly if its 1" smaller than the teir??
TIA

FD is soo much better than wilton.
I just wanted to know why everyone prefers the FD pans? I have the Wilton pans and i love them. They bake my cakes evenly, straight edges, and super easy to clean? What's different about FD?
I love my wilton pans they bake perfectly either way you can't go wrong with FD or wilton
Thank you for all the help but...

Not quite understanding the question. How big is the tier underneath the 5 or 6". I am assuming you are stacking? Otherwise it's not a tier...but a layer cake.
And I use FD pans. I have a Magic Line and while, yes their corners are sharper...they also tear off easier. I can make my square FD cakes with no problems. Their sides are straighter than Wilton. If you can stack 2 same size pans then their sides are slanted a bit. I find FD pans awesome. They bake evenly and you can put them in the dishwasher. you can find FD pans all over the internet...in all sizes. I have a couple of 6" pans myself.
sorry for the confusion
I have a cupcake stand 18"-6"
the last is teir 6", I want to make as a cake
I only found a 5" FD round pan
My question is would a 5" cake look ugly on the 6" teir/plate IE the last teir of the CC stand
the only 6" pan I found is Wilton
So which one should I get the 5" or 6" pan?
TIA

you can check out my most recent cake/cupcake picture in my gallery. (baby birds) I used a 5" round for the cake. By the time you add frosting to your cake, it will add to your width. It won't look bad at all. Use a board and put a ribbon around the base that ties in with your colors.
