How do I make a book cake so that the covers stay straight and don't flop.

Hi
If you look at mine, when I cut the top fondant after laying it over the cake I very slightly 'rolled' the tiny edge underneath itself, this seemed to work. I did have an idea to have card pieces to support whilst it dried but didn't need it.
