Does it need to be cake or gumpaste/fondant only?

If you are wanting to make it out of cake, this is what I have done before, I used 2 6x2 square cakes, 1 6x2 in round then topped with a half ball cake and started carving to the shape I needed, I have made a 3D Optimus Prime and a 3D Bumble Bee using these size cake pans, and they looked awesome. Good luck.
