How do I make those really cute decorations that are on wires sticking out of the tops of cakes? Are there tips and tricks to getting them to stick to the wire? Is there a wire that works best? Will fondant work? Thanks for your help! 
Yes, you can use fondant. Insert straws into the cake and it will prevent the wire from cutting up the cake when shaken. Use heavy wire for supporting the decorations (especially like the little balls of fondant on the end) and use a pair of pliers and make a closed hook on the end. Dip your hook into melted chocolate before you stick your fondant on it. Hope this helps!
