Hi all,

I've been reading up on the beer bottle molds and really want to use them for my husbands 30th bday cake. I'm wondering if there is a coupon code or something for myom.com? $80 is a lot of money for something I will use once icon_sad.gif

Or, is there anyone out there that makes the bottles and would be willing to sell/ship them to me?

Thanks

couldn't pull up myom.com so not sure what site you're looking at

Here's another website with bottle molds ... the most expensive one is $50 http://www.decoratethecake.com/store/WsDefault.asp?Cat=SugarBottles

Wow, that site is amazing with the molds. I always thought you had to make your own molds for them. Do you use isomalt for the molds? Also, does anyone have instructions for using those molds? Checked on that site and it doesn't have instructions. Would the instructions on CC be the same for the premade molds? You can tell I've never done this before but would love to try sometime. Thank you.

Thank you for sending me to the demo! I loved the blue bottle. I didn't care for the chocolate bottle, but the root beer one looked great too.

I made a mold myself using a less expensive media from the local craft store called Mold Builder. I used isomalt for a clear bottle (versus regular sugar). Check You Tube for tutorials, very simple and inexpensive. I had to make a Grey Goose bottle which was hand painted and the food color worked fine on the isomalt.
Note: Using this process the bottle is open at the bottom so may not work for every project.

Check with Makeyourownmolds.com and see if he has started selling them yet. I know he had talked about it. If not, he has a wonderful tutorial on how to make one using a shipping tube.

myom.com was just my short hand for makeyourownmolds.com ha! Sorry, didn't mean to confuse everyone.

I'll check on doing them myself. Any suggestions on making the sugar bottles green? I'm wanting to do Dos XX beer.

Thanks for the response
