Hello,
I need some filling ideas that would go with yellow cake that is not chocolate. Has anyone used buttercream for the filling? Thanks in advance!

I use buttercream all the time. You can mix it with strawberry sleeve filling or preserves as well, or just spread a thin layer of the strawberry on the cake and then a layer of BC on top. I do that often and people love it!

Yes I use buttercream alot as fillings for cakes. adding flavours to butercreams works also.
I'd say most any flavour would work with a yellow cake. HTH

I love strawberry or raspberry preserves as a filling. I also love buttercream, so here is what I do:

I tort my cakes, and make them 4" tall, so mine are like this:

cake
preserves
cake
buttercream
cake
preserves
cake
