Ribbon Question

Hi there,
I am doing my first cake with ribbon on it and wanted to know how you attach one end to the other. like where the ribbon comes together. I am planning on backing the ribbon with wax paper but wasnt sure how to tie the two ends together.

Once you learn the basics, it's very easy and fun to do bows.

Well I am not doing a bow really its just silk ribbon around the bottom of each tier on a wedding cake.

I just overlap it a tad and use a dot of royal icing.
