I belong to an ethical society and I'm just DYING to make a gag cake! I'm planning on making the litterbox cake!

Anyone else have ideas for April Fools? things you've done in the past? My MIL will just DIE when she sees that cake.... I almost make it for her bday, but decided that wasn't very nice! LOL

What I've done in past is do an April Fool's dinner. The main course is a "cake" which is actually meat loaf covered in mashed potatoes and decorated appropriately with mustard and ketchup "icing" and for desert it's "taco salad" with waffle cups and chocolate icecream rolled in crushed walnuts and topped with food coloured coconut, green for lettuce, orange for cheese and black licorice olives.
The litter box cake is a great idea though......except that my cats might think it's the real thing.......erk.

I was practicing my decorating on the back of a cake pan and thought it would be a great idea for April Fool's Day. Bring in a decorated cake pan to work. Have everyone gathered to get a slice and have someone else to cut it. I think that would be hilarious. Of course, then I would present the real cake for eating.

Great ideas, love the jello with a straw one...

4 and 20 blackbird pie:
Bake an empty pie shell (filled with beans to keep shape) and a separate "lid". Allow the crust to cool completely. Fill with leaping wind-up toys.

A nice touch is rice pudding with flies. Use your favorite rice pudding,a handful of soft dark raisins -
some sliced almonds
1) If the raisins are not soft enough, soak them for a little while in liqueur, rum, brandy, etc.
2) Cut two slits in each raisin, running the long way.
3) Insert one almond slice into each slit (these are your flies).
4) Partially fill a nice glass/crystal bowl with pudding.
5) Tastefully place several flies next to the glass.
6) Fill bowl with remainder of pudding and ornament with balance of flies.

I love the chocolate dipped cotton balls!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At a party last year, the hostess brought out a beautifully decorated cake. She asked a lady to begin cutting it. The lady tried several times to slice it but it was styrofoam dummy layers. Everybody got a really good laugh except the lady cutting the cake and she got mad........go figure. Later, the hostess brought out the real cake.

I've seen a few times on America's FUnniest Videos where there is a water balloon inside a cake or decorated as a cake (I'm not to sure how it's done) but when the person goes to cut the cake the water balloon pops and they get soaked. Kind of a mean trick, but if someone really deserves it...... icon_twisted.gif go ahead.

It's not a cake, but in one of the Family Fun magazines I saw that they used a regular pie crust (as a top) in an empty pie tin (loaded with aluminum to keep the pie crust up. Cook it as usual. Then after that carefully remove the pie crust and empty the aluminum out. Use the pie tin and add a vanilla pudding. Make "vegetables" out of fondant and add them to the vanilla pudding. Round green peas, sliced carrots, square bits of potatoes and the "chicken" was made out of dried apple slices cut into fourths. They will think it's dinner till they get served.

Molding the poop is too much fun! My family does monthly birthday parties. My uncle who is a prankster and I are the only ones with February birthdays. So I made him the kitty litter cake and then made a pretty floral cake for myself. It was so funny. He has since ordered two to take to work for jokes, lol.
