This is a design/technique I have seen a few times (most recently in September's issue of Cake Central Magazine) and I love love love it.
I recently entered a cake contest judged not by cake people, but by the public, and think that this would be an adequate enough design to wow them all. The only problem is that I have no idea how to do the structure. I think it has something to do with plumbing parts and PVC pipe, but have never done anything like this before. Does anyone have an idea of how to do it? Or know of an online tutorial?
I think I can figure out the cake part, it's just the infrastructure part that is a mystery.
