Ok ...I need help. I love stacking cakes...I love the look. However, I haven't figured out the correct technique yet. Lets say I am stacking a 6 on top of an 8...I cut a cake board to fit just right under the 6 and I fill and ice the 6 inch tier. When I get to the site I then use a spatula to pick it up enough so I can get my fingers under it then I try to gracefully lay it on the 8 with out screwing up either cake...AND I ALWAYS screw up BOTH cakes! There are fingerprints on everyhing. I am getting so frustrated. Can any offer suggestions!??

First, use the precut boards and don't trim them. The space between the outer edge of the cake and the edge of the board is where the icing goes.

Second use SPS. You can slide the cake into place.
