Eggplant Color

I have a wedding cake to do this spring and the colors are black, eggplant and white. My question is how do you get that really deep purple color of eggplant?

3 parts violet, 1 part red, a smidge of brown. you will definitely want to mix the color lighter than you want as both purple and red tend to darken considerably after sitting out for a while.
