I just knocked over a tray of 2 dz dried paper thin full size gumpaste roses, shattered like glass. For a cake this weekend too!!!!

That sucks! I hate when things like that happen! And yes, we felt the tremor here in Maryland!!

Oh no! and here I was feeling bad for myself bc one of the petals of my roses (mmf) broke. I feel so bad for you, not much else to say but chin up? (not very helpful either I'm afraid)

Oh boy - time for some recon! I found a bakery that will sell premade gumpaste and royal icing flowers - not the #1 choice but I was suprised that not only did the women think they were wonderful but they cost less to buy then make.

Again - I would rather make my own with my own artistic flair but THERE are emergencys and it sounds like this is one.

Working like a dog remaking them, got 10 down. Unfortunately they are not as detailed as the previous ones. Hopefully they will still come out nice on the completed cake.
