Okay I know I've seen some amazing FBCT here and they look so professional. This one was very small and I had to use the #1 tip on most of it. It came out a little smeared and I'm wondering if I did that when I put the orange on the back of the whole transfer? Its for my uncles birthday and he is a huge spurs fan.

I think it looks good! I still haven't worked up the courage to try one...might be a good excuse for a "stay at home" cake. icon_smile.gif

Chrissy! I got excited when I opened up your post and saw the Spurs logo on your cake and then I saw you're in SA too. Do you know if there are any cake clubs in town?

Okay on to your cake...I've never done a fbct before (I'm afraid to try it) but I think yours looks really good and your uncle should love it.

That turned out really good. It's very cool looking on the basketball.

I think it turned out good for your first one. I just tried my first one a few weeks ago for my twin nephews. I believe that I will try it again and hope that you do too. It seems like a good way to decorate cakes. Yours does look good to me!

It looks great! Did you find it hard to put on the curved surface of the ball? I am so paranoid about mine breaking!

great job for your first one! Next time, make extra sure you really have the details filled in. If you don't then when you put your base color behind it and smooth it, it will push into any tiny gaps or opening behind the main part.
Was it hard getting it on the curve? Thats a great idea, I wouldn't have thought to try it.

Thank you all for your responses. When I put it in the freezer I put it inside the ball pan and it froze with the curve so it was really easy to place on the cake. Thanks for the advice for next time as well.

It really looks great! I think if you put white on the back instead of orange, you wouldn't have the white background show through. Whatever color is the background of the logo is what I would use to back it up with. But it looks fantastic! I would be scared to put one on a 3d surface, but freezing it on a form like that is a great idea!
