Is Wednesday too early to bake a cake for Saturday. Also I will be putting fondant on it. When is the best day to do that? Thank you for your input

Wednesday is fine. Wrap well and freeze it. Tort and fondant on Friday morning. Decorate Friday evening or Saturday morning.

Well that's what I'd do anyway.

yep, that's typically the schedule I use for my wedding cakes.
