Hi everyone,
I've been thinking about getting the SCAL because I was thinking it would be great if I could just google images of whatever I wanted and cut them out on SCAL but.....I guess it doesn't work that way, huh? I guess you can only use svg files? I don't see many free ones out there, do you have to purchase most of them? Can you change other files to svg files and if so, how do you do that?

I have just been looking for interesting free SVG files and found thousands.
Just do a search for free dingbats.
If you buy SCAL here you can use the free files as well as the sets for free.
