Hi, can someone give me instructions on how to make a butterfly cake without a shaped tin. Thanks

I've used two heart shaped pans. Just cut the points of both hearts, stick the hearts side by side together and use the cut off pieces to form the top and bottem (his head and body).

I would bake a square cake,make a template with a cardboard paper or something the same size as the cake tin,and then just cut out the butterfly shape from the square or rectangle cake.
