How Do You Make Gumpaste Figures That Do Not Have Cracks?

I have a huge problem with my gum paste figures having cracks in them. I don't believe they are actually cracks from dryness. I knead in the color and then say I roll into a ball to make a figure and it has a bunch of fold marks in it that look like cracks. I have tried just gum paste as well as 50/50 with fondant. I have used MMF and also Wilton fondant and it does not seem to make a difference. I don't think that I am using too much color because it happens even when I make the lightest colors. I do rub crisco all over my hands as I am working, I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it. Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

have you tried some glycerine?

Hi, please go on youtube and look at aine2(c/cer) show how to get all those creases out of your g/p or g/p/fondant. She shows how to roll it to keep your g/p from creasing. hth

I spray my hands with cooking spray, and it makes the gumpaste so much easier to work with and no cracks icon_smile.gif
