I have someone looking for a retirement cake (slab) to have a puzzle design on the top with different interests and hobbies in each puzzle piece. They are looking for it to only be in buttercream. I am not the best at working with buttercream so am looking for any suggestions from the wonderful decorators here on CC

I would just do the piece outlines in black and then either make up edible images or fondant figures to go in each piece.
