Hi all, I have been asked to make 3 Wedding cakes this year, Im totally up for it now, The trouble is I keep on being asked the same question, How much doI charge for a 3 tier wedding cake, seems I havent made a wedding cake before I have no idea how much to say, The couples have pics of their cakes but have not showed me yet, I have said to them I cannot price untill I see what it is they want. Any suggestions on a base price? TIA Karen xxx

My price per serving is the same no matter what type of cake they want. I don't care if it's for a wedding, birthday, or a just because cake.

As for them asking how much a "3-tier cake is" your first question should be how many servings do you need? A three tier cake can serve anywhere from 10 to 275 or more depending on the sizes you use for each tier.

I can give them a basic number with knowing about how many servings they need and just multiply it times my per serving price then i tell them that there may be additional charges if they have specialty decorations (i only charge extra for sugar flowers, large bows, and some other details, most designs are included in my price)

I know there are TONS more articles on pricing, but these are what I found on the cuff. At least it will get you started.
