As some of you know from my previous post, I was contacted by a producer from Food Network's Challenge, I filled out the Questionnaire,sent more cake pictures, and pictures of myself as they asked. She called me shortly after and told me she loved my story and asked me to make a 2-5 minute audition tape to show a bit about myself. This makes me very nervous because I am only semi-professional and I've NEVER auditioned for anything before. I had posting my first attempt a week or so ago..I modified it by adding a montage of my cakes...starting with the first two I ever made (which I talk about on the tape) and showing a progression of my cakes from that point on.. Thanks for looking and any opinion are welcome ( but please try not to be too meanicon_wink.gifThanks...and wish me luck I need some!!!! icon_biggrin.gif

I really loved your audition! You have a great talant for making cakes and I can't beleave that you are self taught. I really do beleave you have found a great talent and good luck with the audition!

I havent done my tape yet! I been a bit sick. But If I can't make it for this one, there will be others. I am not in a hurry to be in tv..lol

Great audition tape. Your personality really shines through and your enthusiasm and passion for caking is obvious. After watching your tape, I wanted to hear more of your story, and I bet the casting producers will too! Best of luck to you.

You tape is fabulous! You come across really well and so down to earth. I love the showing of your cakes at the end. Lets them see where you started, and where you're going. Really great presentation. As I said before....be sure to let us know when you'll be on. I would sooooooo love to watch one of our own on challenge!! I'd really have someone worth rooting for!!!!

I stand by what I wrote after seeing your first video. I am sure they can see your enthusiasm through what your say, and showing your progression through your cakes can be no bad thing. Good luck!

Great job. How do you get an opportunity to audition? Did they contact you first? Or does one just make a tape and sent it in? Any info you can share is appreciated (I tried to PM you but for some reason it isn't working -sorry).

Thanks again guys!!! Carla, a producer from FN Challenge saw my cake pics on Kerry Vincent's Fantorage page, she asked me to email her...I did she replied with a questionarre for me to fill out and she asked me to send in more cake pics and a headshot, once I did that she called me and asked me to make the audition tape....I won't know for another month I think but I am hoping and prayingicon_smile.gif

Really...thank you so much for the words of encouragement I truly appreciate iticon_smile.gif Honestly, I've been feeling a bit worried lately wondering if my tape is going to be good enough...A lot of new auditions have been posted recently and most of the people have a lot more resources than I do/did and the tapes are SO professional and I'm just hoping and praying that I have a chance...my family and I really need a break right now..this truly could change our lives.. and it's an amazing opportunity for me to really grow and learn..it's the chance of a lifetime.

Ok...the producer sent an email saying she has written my paper proposal and they will start selecting people for the show next week..she hopes to have the cast for season 8 set by the end of January...I am hoping and praying & my fingers and toes are crossedicon_smile.gif
