what type of buttercream do i use for the outline? i think i remember reading once about a special black buttercream for outlining, but i am not sure....

I use the 3 sticks of butter to one cup of crisco recipe here and just color some of it black.

I use my regular all crisco buttercream. I don't feel a need to make a special icing when what I use works just fine.

Some use the Wilton tube of black icing, that is already precolored. But if you are making a small amount it isn't hard to color your icing black, which is what I do.

I also use the Wilton recipe all shortening recipe. When the fbct thaws it doesn't run.
