How do I put gum paste figures on wire without the wire cutting through the cake? The gum paste figures are tiny, but are heavy enough that they weight the wire down and keep slicing through the cake.
Is there some kind of support that I should be giving the wires?

you can put the wires in coffee stirrers or straws and insert those in the cake
