help! i have the fondant out as we speak... i didnt have time to make it so i bought some at michael's... the darn fondant tears every time i roll it out or try to lay it on the cake. i've used PS, CS, crisco, everything i can think of. i've gone thru so much fondant already and i have no more time! please, any suggestions will help, thanks!
is it Duff's? try microwaving 15 seconds and knead knead knead until really soft. Don't add anything else it should work. This brand es extremely elastic and pliable
I used pre-coloured red fondant once (and ONLY once!!) and had the same problem. I don't know how to 'fix' the fondant so it doesn't tear, I'm interested to hear what others suggest.
i finally got the cake done - thanks for the help 'what_a_cake' and to coral... it was a pain in the you know what... i will NEVER buy pre-colored fondant again. ever.
