No, it's very thick and smooth.

Thanks flourpots. I wanted to make sure. I had to return a container to the store. Opened another there and it looked the same way.

Sometimes I shake mine gently cause I get a few lump here and there, and It smoothes out. I guess when it sits on the shelf without being moved it gets that way. Of course I check the exp. date and if it smells or tastes funny before using it.
