I don't know if everyone experiences this, but when I cover a cake in fondant it always has a few dents here and there to marr the perfect surface. I guess I just touch it with a knuckle or something while I'm smoothing it on.
Is there any way to deal to those dents if a smoother won't get them out?

Perfect spot for a decoration to cover it
That's about the only method I've figured out.
