Gel colorings work well...a little Crisco rubbed on both hands helps with the stickiness, and microwaving definitely makes it easier to blend, so there's no streaks.

Definitely use gel coloring, if you are making the fondant, stir it into the mixture before adding the sugar. When you are adding color to store bought fondant keep you hands greased well, like the early response says and add a little more sugar if it is really soft or sticky.

For the color...use gel colors. Wilton ones are pretty good.To avoid streaks in fondant, knead alot.
For the stickiness, rub your hands and surface with some shortening.

Hope this helps.

if the fondant its self gets too sticky, a little extra ps can help - too much will dry it out tho!
