Someone asked me to make them a cake ((1) 9x13 or (2) 8" rounds). They want just a basic yellow cake with chocolate icing. It's for several birthdays but she does not want it birthday related. Any simple decorating ideas out there? She said to do whatever I want that is traditional and simple without wording. I'm so indecisive! Any and all suggestions are greating appreciated!!

There is always the classic simple buttercream roses. You could do some geometric fondant cutouts- diamond pattern, concentric circles etc.

did she say if it was for males or females? Id do either large polka dots or flat daisy cut outs. Or if there is something you want to practice, a technique like piping scrolls then you could do that too.

Damask design is always nice. I've never done it myself, but plan to!
