I've done it several times. I color the MMF green, tan and black....roll it into logs and then twist them together. Roll it out.....poof!! Instant camoflage! Just don't knead it after you braid/twist it. HTH!!
For my camo heart, I rolled out the base color then cut random shapes out of the other colors. Then I put the darker colors on the base and rolled it again so they would be flat. Hope that makes sense. Turned out better than I thought it would. Good thing too since you can't really redo it.
