Okay, so I'm doing my first "Fake Cake" that I want to keep! I am making it for a display, so what should i use to adhere the fondant? I've used buttercream under the fondant on a Styrofoam base before, but it was just put in the garbage afterwards. I can't use buttercream this time or it will go bad! Any help would be great! Sugar Syrup or Sugar Glue work well.
I've also used water before, that works just fine!

I have found a thin layer of shortening works best. Plus it makes it easier to remove the fondant and use the dummy again.
