Buttercream Icing Bulge?

I use the viva method to smooth my bc icing. It looks great, but once in a while I will get a "bulge" on one side of the cake. Does anyone know what causes this and how I can prevent/get rid of it? Thanks!

How long are you letting your cake settle after you fill it and before you ice it?
