I have to transport 3 cakes 250 miles in my car - all 3 cakes have sugarpaste models to go on top. I will not be transporting the cakes with the models on them, but i'm not sure how to safely package all the models so they don't break, get damaged etc. Does anyone have a foolproof way of doing this that they can recommend? Thankyou.

My favorite method of transporting delicate things it to get a box and line it with 3/4-1" thick foam, even the egg foam depending on whats transporting. Put your stuff in there, put another layer on top GENTLY, close the box. Put that box in a box surrounded with packing peanuts. The peanuts absorb any bumps. I've shipped things across the US through fedex like this and never had a crack.
