I dont' have separate icings for cakes vs cupcakes so if you are happy with your cake icing, I'd go ahead and use that.
Now if you want a biased opinion .... try this recipe! ![]()

Indy, I would love to try your recipe, people just don't stop talking about it!
One problem, would you be able to help me convert it to aussie language for this lady down-under???
I guess I dont' speak Aussie!
We don't have crisco, but I just googled, I think the closest thing is butter.. I don't think we have dream whip either! Not sure what clear vanilla is, all my vanillas are brown, I'll have to have a shop around for that too ![]()
Crisco is a white vegetable shortening. Looks like lard but no animal fat ... vegetable shortening.
Dream Whip is a powder that you mix with milk and beat the bah-jeebers out of it and it turns to whipped cream. (But you use just the powder in the icing recipe).
Using brown vanilla is ok, but your icing will have a tint. I use brown vanilla when I want to make off-white, tan, beige, fleshtone, ivory, etc., colored icing.
You can get crisco here
http://www.usafoods.com.au/ and a few cake decorating suppliers sell it too.
that's awesome, thanks guys.. now I can try it!!!!
