I made some rice paper butterflies (thanks Meghan89) and I have yet to add the bodies. I was wondering if anybody had any ideas on how to make the butterflies look like they are flying at the top of the cake. Whether this be using wires or something else. Thanks

Flying butterflies would look awesome! You could use a really fine gauge wire, but string enough to hold up you butterflies. I am making a stack of 3 gift packages with fondant butterflies on the "wrapping" of one of them. I might have to steal your idea and make a few rice paper ones flying around my packages! Hope you don't mind!

I was just looking at the gallery and came across Boween's cakes and she has a cake with flowers dangling above the cake.

Maybe you could ask her what she used.

Kos, that's a bear in a wagon! The next one has gumpaste flowers on wires, very cute.

tastycakes--I guess I don't know how to attach URL's
because lastnight, when I hit the URL, it was the flowers.
This morning, it's not even the wagon cake,
it's the cow cake. icon_confused.gif

Maybe I'm in a weird time-warp down here in Fayetteville!

Anyway, it is one of Boween's cakes called "Ladybugs"
under Children's Birthday Cakes.

LOL Kos!! Just thought I would let you know that when you posted your message the lady bug cake was there!! It just moves as more pictures are posted. There is a different way to post them and they will stay the same. I think if you go in the person's actual gallery and attach that url it will stay. Not positive about this. Just thought I would let you know it wasn't you LOL.

Thanks CharlieinMO for that helpful tip about posting pictures. Now I understand why that happens so frequently.

Also, I noticed that we are almost neighbors. I grew up in Peculiar, MO and my grandparents now live in Harrisonville after moving from Archie.
I just got excited because I know where Adrian is!!

Yes it is. I have always wondered where in Missouri you are and today I guess I just noticed it was Adrian. I now live in KC, near the Grandview Triangle, but I do know where Adrian is!

It is nice to meet you!

Nice to "meet" you too! I wish someday we could get a bunch of us from here that live within an hour or so together and do a DOS. I am afraid I would probably be doing mostly learning but it would be fun I think!

Charlotte,

Believe it or not I know exactly where Adrian is, I have been by and through there many of times. My Great grandparents moved to Ammoret when they retired. I was just down there in July to visit my Great Grandpa.

So you are not lost out there! just hidden from most icon_smile.gif
