Anyone Been Contacted By Food Network Challenge?

There was a thread about it the other day on here somewhere. Someone had been contacted and they were chatting with Sugarshack about it.
I got a voice mail from someone who identified herself as Julie Sarah from Food Network Challenge casting. I returned the call, but got her voice mail. Not sure if it's legit or not, but it got me wondering how they do choose their contestants, what they look for, what they pay for vs. what the contestants have to pay for, etc.
Kitagrl.... Considering the kind of stuff on TV today, it's probably a compliment to not have a TV personality LOL.
It sounds like fun, but my concern is that I'm WAY TOO SLOW. I can spend 5 hours on a single fondant figure. Not to mention, I'm a one-person licensed home bakery, so I don't have a clue who I could even recruit as an assistant. Oh well....it's fun to dream isn't it? I still can't believe they even contacted me to begin with.
I'm sorry everyone, but Lisa just sent me a PM saying that I could be her assistant *wink, wink*

If I thought I had a slight chance at competing at this level, I'd volunteer as well ![]()
Lisa I know what you mean by working slow. I get sooo frustrated when I feel like I'm being rushed. I'd probably have a heart attack if I did something like this. But congratulations on getting a call. What a huge compliment. BTW, I looked at your cakes, you definately have the skills to compete, your cakes are beautiful.
WOW! That's super exciting! Any updates?? Have you heard back yet?
