I have been asked to make wedding topper figures and Bride wants to know if gumpaste will "keep" I believe it will but want to know from the experts about its longevity.
Also can the figures be sprayed in a varnish and are they quite durable or would I be better off making them out of a different medium such as salt dough? Thanks for any advice!

I've got lots of customers who save the animals from their shower cakes to re-use on a 1st birthday cake. (???) But, I always tell them to store the in a dark, dry place as they will fade.
