Cake Boards?

Hello everyone,
I am just wondering what everyone uses for cake boards? Both for the individual layers and the finished cake. I have just been using cardboard for the layers and then I glue like 4 together for the finished product is this right?

Right! Each cake on its own cake board, and several thicknesses for the base board (or cake drums, or plywood for extra large cakes). Just be sure to cover the cardboard/plywood baseboards with something presentable (other than plain aluminum foil) so the raw edges don't show!
