The only thing you need to do is keep it out of the sun (because it will fade), and don't get it wet. I redo my display cakes every few years, just to keep the styles updated. If they get dusty, just use a soft paintbrush on them. They'll be fine. (I take mine to a lot of event and they hold up perfectly)
